We need to start out with corrections to my previous post as provided by Kevin.

"Ahorita la capilla esta en el centro en el tercer piso de un edificio en frente de la restaurante Fidos." (Now the chapel is in the town center, on the third floor of a building in front of the Fidos restaurant.)

Here is a picture of the current chapel.

As for the branch president... "El Presidente es Edwardo Torres y el es de Honduras." I will let you translate this one.

As you can see from the following map, the current branch president may be a lot closer than the former, if he lives in NE Honduras. However, he still has a substantial commute to the branch chapel.

Raccoons are not native to San Pedro Island. It seems, however, that some residents of the island consider young raccoons to be fun pets. I don't know how young raccoons behave but grown up raccoons could only be pets of the most masochistic. The adventurous but naive pet owners evidently release the raccoons as they get older and several made their way to the patio on the roof of Kevin's apartment building.

Here is an excerpt from Kevin's letter that helps you understand their opportunities to serve in this small branch.

"After church we had an executive priesthood meeting for the first time in I think months. It went pretty well. Me and my companion put appointments with every presidency from every organization to start training all of them so they all know their responsibilities and can start magnifying their callings. We are especially focusing on getting the home teaching and visiting teaching up and running again."

Finally, his testimony. "I know that Christ lives and that He is our Savior and Redeemer. I know that that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it truly testifies of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and that today we have a modern-day prophet that leads and guides the church. "
