So, we bought the expensive shoes with hopes they would last through Kevin's mission. As it turns that, that was incredibly naive.

I don't know why he is so sad. He was sent to El Salvador to save souls not soles. He should heal the sick and not worry about sick heels.

Not to worry, a replacement set of shoes will arrive at our house tomorrow and we will send them to him. (No, we didn't send him out with only one pair of shoes. As it turns out, the Florsheims went down pretty fast.) Thank goodness, his district leader has really big feet so Kevin could borrow his boots.

Kevin had an interesting week as gangs threatened violence, including torching buses, in response to new laws cracking down on gangs. The missionaries had a 6:30 curfew which allowed them to get in more study time. I guess there were incidents in other parts of the country but not where he was.

  1. That was so funny (explanation about him being sad)! He can always cut up a piece of tire and sew/glue it onto his old shoes. I heard someone did that. Maybe it was a legend...

  2. Is Terry Lunt secretly writing these posts??? Seriously, you do a great job with this blog. Kevin looks well and happy. I know he is a great missionary.
