Kevin sent a picture of his district. Since he and his companion are the only ones on the island, I assume the sisters are serving in Belize City. They must have their district meetings on Tuesday when Kevin and his companion go to Belize City to use the less expensive Internet cafes.

I think Kevin's mission president has discovered the power of diversity. Each companionship seems to contain a representative of North America and one of Central America.

Sometimes I like to contrast Kevin's mission experience with mine. In his recent letter he talks about teaching a man who stopped them in the street and wanted to be taught. He also mentioned teaching a lady who came to the church seeking to be taught and who will be baptized this Saturday. He must have more faith and be more faithful than I did/was because I don't recall any experiences like that.

If anybody stopped us in the streets, it was to try one of their two English phrases on us. ("What time ees eet?" and "Yonkee go home.") They wouldn't normally stop us to accuse us of being with the FBI or CIA but those were favorites as well.

I think Kevin inherited his attraction to sunsets from my dad. He and his buddy used to love taking slides of the southeastern Arizona sunsets and then show them to groups from which they hoped to extract oohs and aahs. With that said, this picture is pretty cool.



Well, as the sun sets on this my latest post, I will include Kevin's testimony.

"I know that Christ lives and that He is my savior. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration. I know that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ and that He leads and guides it through a modern day prophet. I know that by truly keeping the commandments and not only being active in church but in the gospel, we will find peace in this life."
