Since Kevin was only able to send one picture, I will give you a little update on the city in which he now resides - Belize City. Here is an aerial view.

Here are some interesting facts:
  • Estimated population - 79,600
  • The city is Belize's principal port and its financial and industrial hub.
  • The city was almost entirely destroyed in 1961 by Hurricane Hattie.
  • The city very much has a tropical climate.
Below we have average temperature and rainfall data, by month for Belize City as compared to Charleston, IL.

How boring it would be to live in Belize City! Their standard deviation on the average high and low temperatures for the year are 3.0 and 3.2 degrees, respectively.

Charleston, on the other hand, boasts standard deviations of 19.2 and 16.4 degrees. (How is that for putting a positive spin on a climate that, today, did not reach 20 degrees.)

It seems the rain is the only thing that breaks up the Belize monotony. A 1.5 inch month must feel a lot different from a 12 inch month.

Back by popular demand...... a sunset shot taken from the boat between Belize City and San Pedro Island.

Finally, Kevin's testimony.

I know that Christ lives and that He is my savior. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that this is His Church that is lead by a modern day prophet.
